Another great website concerning the existance of God

http://www.reasons.org/
This is a great place to search out scientific answers to God's existance.

Believing He exists is certainly one of the first steps to knowing Him.
Another is admitting that you have done at least one bad thing in your life.
No one can say they have never lied, never done anything wrong.
No one can say they have never hated.
Most cannot say they have never committed adultery.
Most cannot say they have never used the Lord's name in vain.
And most cannot say they have never stolen. Yes, playing solitaire on company time or taking a pen that does not belong to you is stealing.
Yes, a white lie is still a lie.
Yes, homosexuality is equal to adultery.
If you have done either or are doing either you are equally guilty.
We all have the same rights.
The right to marry a person of the opposite sex.
There is no discrimination there, it is equal. And sex outside of marraige is just as big of a sin as homosexuality.
We are all guilty of breaking at least one of God's laws.
That is the purpose of the Old Covenant. To show us that we are not able to keep them all perfectly.
Now, the New Covenant, shows us the way back to the Lord's presence. Where we were designed to be in the first place.
That way is Jesus.

P.S.
If you want an interesting, fascinating read, check out the Book of Jubilees, the Book of Enoch, or the Book of Adam and Eve. All easily found online, these books really show some amazing insights!

excellent site about Messianic Prophecy!

http://www.allabouttruth.org/Messianic-Prophecy.htm
Just ran across this! Has many prophecies from the Old Testament concerning Jesus and where these things are fulfilled in the New Testament.
also here is a sister site that is also full of excellent information!

This is for all to read.

The covenant of circumcision isn't gone. But it is superceded by a greater covenant.

Colossians 2
Ephesians 2
Galatians 5
Romans 15:7-9
Romans 3
Romans 2
Acts 15
Acts 10:44-48
Acts 7

I will not visit the inflamatory sounding site from the comments, although maybe she is a so called "Christian", I don't know.

God is Holy, God is just. God is to be feared. But He is also love. He DOES love EVERYONE. But He cannot be near sin. And homosexuality is sin, just like fornication and adultery.
I think God's definition of whether a person is a "true Christian" is the only one that counts. you might think she is a Christian because maybe someone who has such a site is an easy target to blame all Christians for being hateful. I don't know and don't care.
you might think I am arrogant. that is fine. But I am right, and that is what matters.
We have a lot of responsibility to live a right life. Most American churches are teaching the very opposite of this though. But our ability to live a right life, and to walk without the guilt from screwing up only comes from Jesus' blood.
Grace isn't an excuse to sin. It gives me the ability not to sin and to enter the presence of God boldly.

it is NOT ok to do the bad stuff. ever. but as a human with a fallen nature, we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

There is nothing we can do personally to fix our sins. it is impossible except for the blood of Jesus. His sacrifice fixes us and changes us to a new creation that is no longer a sinner. I am righteous. only by the blood of Jesus. but now, I am in right standing with God. If you aren't, that is your choice, and it may sound arrogant, but it is just confident.
God didn't give us a propensity to sin, we did. by choosing to eat the apple. and sooner or later someone would have eaten it.
we handed the reign over to satan at that point.
then we all automatically acquired a fallen nature.
lots of people think they can get away with sinning and then later get forgiven. that is not quite how it works.
yeah, we may get forgiven if we are truly repentant and realize our folly before it is too late.
but tonight in your sleep may be too late. tomorrow on the way to work or school or church or walking in the park someone or something may kill you. a car wreck, a heart attack, a random bullet, or a gang shoot out.

Jesus already has forgiven the sinners. while we were still sinners Christ died for us. all of us are forgiven. it is our choice to receive it or not. i chose to receive it.
every day i repent of something and ask for forgiveness. but all of my sins are forgiven. past present and future. every one. I am forgiven. the reason i ask for forgiveness is for the sole purpose of wiping my own slate clean on my heart, reaffirming the power of the Blood in my life, offering to the Lord the things I cannot bear, and admiting to Him that He alone is able.
but if I die, right after saying something mean, or lying or swearing I am still forgiven, and I am still going to Heaven.
i am not here to proclaim my humility. i desire it, but i really don't think i am very humble. i try, that is all i can say.

There is scripture to back up everything here.

Why Christians evangelize and why the answer means you should take a good look at what they are saying!!

I evangelize for the sole purpose of saving others from the coming wrath.

1 Thessalonians 1:8-11 (New International Version)
New International Version (NIV)

Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984 by International Bible Society
NIV at IBS International Bible Society NIV at Zondervan Zondervan

8The Lord's message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, 9for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, 10and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.

I do not wish to see one person go to hell!!!

Think about all the other religions and examine whether they are concerned if people "convert" for their own sake or for the sake of making people submit to their rule?

Christians (true Christians, those who love God and men) are trying to warn people that the things they do wrong (EVERY thing) including lying, adultery, fornication, worshipping idols, EVERYTHING will be judged as sin and will automatically condemn them to HELL if they do not ask God to forgive them, repent (turn from their old ways, do a 180) and receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior !

Let's put it this way. I am on a hillside, and I see from a particular point of view.

You are coming along, but I can see from my position that the way you are going is dangerous and you are going to fall off of a cliff but I just stand there and watch or better yet walk away....your blood is on my hands.

But if I yell out and try to stop you, it is now your responsibility to go the other way. You have in effect "heard the good news" that "if you change your course you will not die."

There IS a hell, and the ruler of it absolutely DOES NOT want you to believe in it.

With no hell, there is no punishment. No justice. No responsibility. It is so convenient to believe it doesn't exist. It seems logical, and it allows a person to live as they wish.
But how convenient it will be on the day of Judgement! Will you keep walking off the cliff? Or at least take a moment to realize someone else might see something you don't and is trying to save you?!

Take a good look around and MAKE SURE you KNOW they are not lying, crazy, or vengeful before you continue!! Or go ahead and walk off the cliff, ignoring the warnings if you want to...it is your choice!

After all, who am I to yell out to you to go another way? I am just another person on the hill, and you don't have any PROOF that I know what I am talking about. Of course you won't think this when you fall off!

Take a good look at Jesus and decide for yourself if He is who He says He is.

This link I believe shows that there is much we don't understand about the earth and the way it was thousands of years ago. Due to this the carbon dating could easily be skewed
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2000/03/000308081611.htm

sorry my links got cut off...didn't realize that. whatever your analysis is there is entirely too much evidence supporting God's existence to say He isn't real.

Also, I think once you mentioned getting first hand accounts from people outside of Christianity proving things that happened then....do you want first hand accounts of people from the 1st century who were NOT converted? Is that part of the requirment? There are plenty of first hand accounts from people who were and subsequently converted. But I suppose if a person saw these things happen and reported them to the world yet did not convert, THEY would be more believable?

Also, what about first hand accounts from people alive today of things that have happened recently? Peoples first hand accounts of being raised from the dead, being healed. (of course since they don't want to get rich off of it it must not be true, since they refuse to be circus freaks on the media, or the media ignores their story) there are first hand accounts of people's food being multiplied, of God stopping and starting rain from prayer, I can go on and on...

i am no scientist...i know what I believe, and understand what I believe. i have to say I do not think you understand it at all, not trying to be mean, but if you read the Bible honestly trying to understand it and honestly trying to find out the truth, you would find it. from what I see that is not your intent.

i am not sure the place I was intending to show here is the right link from the last comment.

Just because you have something in a scientific study that you desire to see correlation between does not make the science faulty. Are you saying that the evolution scientists must be more honest because they supposedly do not have any preconceived notions?! They don't have any moral basis for being honest so we could just as easily say they aren't honest. This is preposterous! They can and often do have just as many preconceived notions as anyone else! They use their personal disbelief as a starting point instead of their belief. Also, there are many scientists who have been converted based on the science they have studied alone.

Also, the link concerning Plimer addresses this topic of 4 legged animals that fly...under the topic on this page of "Biblical Blunders" the 4th blunder down...

what is science?

www.thefreedictionary.com
sci·ence Pronunciation (sns)
n.
1.
a. The observation, identification, description, experimental investigation, and theoretical explanation of phenomena.

b. Such activities restricted to a class of natural phenomena.
c. Such activities applied to an object of inquiry or study.
2. Methodological activity, discipline, or study: I've got packing a suitcase down to a science.
3. An activity that appears to require study and method: the science of purchasing.
4. Knowledge, especially that gained through experience.
5. Science Christian Science.

It seems that many on either side of the fence concerning evolution or intelligent design or creation teachings do not understand what science is supposed to be about. And what academia is supposed to be about.

First of all, in the science classes I had (I am no expert mind you) we were taught initially that there are some specific things that are "laws". And then there are the different things that we study that are all governed by these laws, but most of the time, in true science we learned that there is much we don't understand about the earth. So in doing experiments we gain a clearer picture of the truth but it is really about studying and determining as much as you can from the experiment. Science is really studying all the options and taking all the variables into account and making some assumptions based on these things.
It is not about having a set or specific "theory" that we base all of our science on. We should be basing our theories on our own studies, our own experiments and our just studying out the posssibilities.
Our students should not be taught in secular schools that "this is the way" or "that is the way" it happened. They should be taught more about how to go about figuring out how it happened versus being spoon fed someone elses theory. That is NOT science.
Also, same problem with academia in general. Many schools out there just want to feed people their own ideas and opinions about life and how it was or should be and how we should live it. They do this instead of showing students all of the different options and having true academic discussion about these ideas and how they affect the world around us. Not that every philosophy is right or wrong, because some are clearly hateful etc., but colleges and universities should be places where people learn to decide for themselves what is right. We all have that responsibility, but our schools don't want us to do this, they want to brainwash kids into believing everyone from the professors favorite stream of thinking is all there is. Students should all be given the opportunity to see things for what they really are.

If we are to have true academia in this country. But I do believe we are far past having that and there is no going back. So I will continue to preach my message and hope people are bold enough to think for themselves, since no one gave them the opportunity to hear it objectively before.

Blaspheming the Holy Spirit

Moses struck the rock. God told him to speak to the rock, but Moses struck it anyway. Moses did not do the perfect will of God. But somehow he still had the power in Him to make it work. Moses had come into an understanding of his own God given authority over creation. He had the power of God in his body. But he still did something that was rebellious with that power.

I am in no way saying what Elisha did was "God's will". What I am saying is that Elisha had been anointed with the power of the Holy Spirit. God isn't a "control freak". He doesn't go around making sure everything we do is exactly how He wants it to be. Not that we aren't predestined. But we can certainly choose not to walk in that destiny. He allows us to screw up. He also allows things to happen in order to again teach us or others around us something. What happened with Elisha was a very direct lesson to the people in the land that he was indeed filled with God's Holy Power.

The verses below show very clearly that we are abassadors to God and that He lives in us and we in Him. That we have His breath in our lungs, that our words can and should and often do carry the same power and authority that He has. It is His name that has the power. People can abuse or misuse His name and have many times. That doesn't take away the power. His gifts are without repentance. People can be full of His power and still never know Him. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen.

To blaspheme the Holy Spirit is to say that the works He is doing are really not Him but are the work of the devil. To deny His existence is to blaspheme Him, especially I believe after seeing His power. I am certain I have done no such thing.

Jesus' was completely meek. Meekness is power under control. I have to say I am not there yet, and I am sure that Elisha was not either. He had the power but was not always in control of it. Same thing with pretty much every human in the Bible except for Jesus.

Genesis 2:7
7Then the LORD God formed man of (AU)dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and (AV)man became a living being.

Genesis 1:26-30
26Then God said, "Let (AE)Us make (AF)man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them (AG)rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

27God created man (AH)in His own image, in the image of God He created him; (AI)male and female He created them.

28God blessed them; and God said to them, "(AJ)Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

29Then God said, "Behold, (AK)I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you;

30and (AL)to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food"; and it was so.

Galatians 2:20 niv
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Luke 12:8-10
"I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God. 9But he who disowns me before men will be disowned before the angels of God. 10And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. niv

Mark 3:20-30 niv
20Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat. 21When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, "He is out of his mind."

22And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Beelzebub[c]! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons."

23So Jesus called them and spoke to them in parables: "How can Satan drive out Satan? 24If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come. 27In fact, no one can enter a strong man's house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can rob his house. 28I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them. 29But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin."

30He said this because they were saying, "He has an evil spirit."

John 17 niv
Jesus Prays for Himself
1After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. 2For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. 3Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. 4I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. 5And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.
Jesus Prays for His Disciples
6"I have revealed you[a] to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. 7Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. 8For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. 9I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. 10All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. 11I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name—the name you gave me—so that they may be one as we are one. 12While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled. 13"I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. 14I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17Sanctify[b] them by the truth; your word is truth. 18As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. 19For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.
Jesus Prays for All Believers
20"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: 23I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. 24"Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. 25"Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them."

John 14:11-15
11"Believe Me that (P)I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise (Q)believe because of the works themselves.

12"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and (R)greater works than these he will do; because (S)I go to the Father.

13"(T)Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that (U)the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14"If you ask Me anything (V)in My name, I will do it.

15"(W)If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

john 14:19-21
19"(AB)After a little while (AC)the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; (AD)because I live, you will live also.

20"(AE)In that day you will know that (AF)I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

21"(AG)He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and (AH)he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will (AI)disclose Myself to him."

John 12:47 nkjv
And if anyone hears My words and does not believe,[i] I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. 49 For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. 50 And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.”

Proverbs 18:21

New International Version (NIV)
The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

1 Corinthians 6:17 nasb
But the one who joins himself to the Lord is (AF)one spirit with Him.

John 15:1-8 niv
The Vine and the Branches
1"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

5"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Ephesians 5:29-32 nasb
29for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church,

30because we are (BK)members of His (BL)body.

31(BM)FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH.

32This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church.
